We put together some pointers for uploading and creating custom name stickers.
It's actually pretty easy.
Custom stickers let users create unique stickers by entering their own name or any other custom text in the blank caption.
Users can change their custom caption as many times as they like after buying the sticker set.
Custom stickers are shown with a "Ⓣ" icon.
Enter any text in the field marked "Create a custom caption!" to preview your caption.
These are the PNG image files used as the base image for custom stickers.
Prepare an image file for each sticker in your set.
These are the character limits, placement, fonts, text sizes, outline, direction, and alignment settings for custom captions that users can enter in each sticker.
The sample text shown by asterisks (*) reflects your caption's style settings.
Captions are marked with asterisks (*) by default on LINE STORE and in the Sticker Shop.
All images from the uploaded base files will be shown at the bottom.
Click a sticker image to show it in the upper preview window and edit its caption styles.

If you can't find the right font, consider going back to the Product Details page and changing these settings.
Start by choosing a maximum number of characters.
This is the character limit users must follow when editing the caption.
We recommend setting a limit between 4 and 6 characters.
Enter sample text to use to preview your caption settings on the preview screen.
Be sure to test the maximum number of characters allowed for your caption when previewing in both half-width and full-width characters.
Note: Characters in vertical direction captions will always be in full-width.
Your sample text will appear on the preview screen right away.
Select the font for the caption's text.
The number of available fonts depends on your sale region settings.
If you can't find the right font, consider going back to the Product Details page and changing your sale region settings.

Note the margin of 25 pixels from the left and right and 15 pixels from the top and bottom of the image shown in gray in the sample pictures.
Placing the start, center, or end points of your caption in this area will likely cause the edges of the caption to be cropped. Stickers with the caption in these areas may be rejected during the review process.
A style file contains all your captions' placement, font, and other settings from the editor.
By importing a style file, you can use the exact same caption settings from another sticker set.
Note: Please do not change the style file's filename.
custom-{sticker_id}.style

Some Japanese text may not appear correctly when vertical. Be sure to check all captions on the preview page.
Some Chinese (Traditional) text may appear with extra space between characters in the editor when vertical. Be sure to check all captions on the preview page.
The width of each character may differ based on the font you choose. We recommend entering the following characters for each language to test your caption's character limits.
Language | Recommended test samples | Character types |
---|---|---|
日本語 | 園園園園/がががが/つつつつ ゃゃゃゃ/ププププ/ーーーー |
Kanji, hiragana/katakana with dakuten (゛) |
English | WWWW | Wide capital letters |
中文(繁体) | 園園園園 | Wide characters |
ภาษาไทย | เเอื้อย/ใบไผ่/รฐาณ | Wide and tall characters with diacritics at the top and bottom |
Click New Submission > Sticker.
Enter sticker details.
Upload image files.
Click "Edit Caption Styles" and configure your captions.
Save your style settings and preview your captions.
Be sure to provide a space for users' captions when designing images for your stickers.
Each sticker can have only one caption.
Note: Vertical text direction is only supported for Japanese and Chinese (Traditional) language captions.
Consider a range of designs (both vertical and horizontal) for a richer variety of expressions.
Note: Vertical text direction is only supported for Japanese and Chinese (Traditional) language captions.
You can set the maximum number of characters the user can enter in a caption.
Consider the maximum character length ahead of time when designing your images.
We recommend setting a limit between 4 and 6 characters.
Setting a higher limit requires characters to be smaller, affecting visibility.
We recommend keeping text as large as possible.
Captions that might appear visible in the editor may be too small when shown on actual mobile devices.
Add outlines to your text whenever possible to help it stand out against users' chat screen backgrounds.
White or gray outlines work best with dark-colored text when shown against a dark theme's background.
Make sure your captions stay within the margins.
If the caption field is off the editor screen and no longer clickable, restore it with the Reset button.
Check that your caption is where it should be on the preview screen.
Captions whose start/middle/end points are close to the margins risk being cropped depending on font or character/language type.
Make sure these points are well within the margins.
Make sure that all characters within the character limit are visible.
Different language scripts may appear in different sizes even when part of the same font.
Make sure that each script shows up correctly when previewing your captions.
